Apple – MacOs Quicklook (preview) thumbnail is black
Not a solution, but a quick way to peek at the image using quickview.
I hope this helps.
- use spacebar to view in quickview – the image is black.
- drag one of the view corners to resize the quickview window. Make it around half the size of the initial window size. The image appears.
In my personal situation, the default size of the quickview window for a 24 Megapixel image is quite large. Reducing the size of it by dragging it to a smaller window size (once it first displays as black) allows the quickview to redraw the image successfully. You might also notice that slowly dragging the quickview window size back up allows it to view larger, but it needs to be done slowly. I suspect there is either some kind of memory allocation or latency issue or an issue with the recursive way the window is updated in software that causes it to fail to redraw.
